Freemindadventures price list for fitting, tailoring and alterations

Every price on this page is what you actually pay at the counter in South Brisbane, with no hidden fitting fees added at the end.

We write our numbers down because too many shops do not. Fitting is free when you buy a pair of shoes from us, made to measure tailoring starts at $1,290, and a simple hem is $35. Below that you will find the full breakdown, the packages worth taking, and the extras that often surprise people.

Alterations

Fixing what you already own

Quoted before anything gets cut. If a garment is not worth repairing, we will say so rather than take the job.

$35

Simple hems

Trouser and skirt hems on a standard single or double fold. Most are finished within three working days and ready for pickup.

$55

Waist and seat adjustments

Taking in or letting out a waistband, plus seat shaping where the fabric allows. We check the current seam allowance before quoting.

$90

Jacket tapering and sleeve length

Slimming the body, shortening sleeves or adjusting cuff buttons. Working buttonholes cost extra because they are moved by hand.

$70

Shoe resoling and patching

Road and trail shoe resoles, plus patchwork on fabric uppers and boot toe caps. We will tell you when the midsole is done for.

Prices shown are the common range, not a fixed rate. Bring the item in so we can look at it properly before you commit to anything.

Bundles

Packages worth taking if you use them

We only push these when the maths works in your favour. If it does not, we tell you that too.

Wedding party

10% off each suit, four or more

  • Individual patterns for every member
  • Group fitting session at the studio
  • Cloth selected with the whole party present
  • Three week rush available if the date is tight

Best booked a full six months out, especially in spring.

Trail season

$180 shoes plus season fitting

  • Full fitting and shoe purchase discount
  • Two follow up fit checks before race day
  • Free re-lace and insole tuning through the season
  • Priority booking in the busiest fortnight

Discount applies to shoes from our own shelf, not to special orders.

What the money buys

Where your cash actually goes

A little transparency, because pricing without context is just a number on a page.

Labour

Skilled hands, paid properly

Roughly sixty percent of a fitting or tailoring price goes to the person doing the work. Everyone on our floor is paid above the award rate, and nobody works on commission against your interests.

Cloth

Materials that last a summer

We buy from mills we have used for years and pay for higher twist cloth that holds its shape through heat and repeated dry cleaning. Cheap fabric makes a made to measure suit look second hand within a season.

Support

Follow up costs us nothing extra

Free follow up fittings, refits after 30 days and the priority booking window in race season are all built into the price you see. There is no separate service fee hiding behind the numbers.

Questions about pricing

What people ask before they commit

Because a fitting is forty five minutes of our time and a suit is twenty to thirty hours of it. We build the cost of the fitting into the price of the shoes, and if you do not buy we charge $45 for the session and credit it back on any purchase within thirty days.

For most jobs, yes. Cloth choice, heavier construction and hand finished details can push things up, and alterations depend entirely on the garment. We quote every job before any cutting or work starts, so nothing arrives at the counter as a surprise.

Yes. On a made to measure suit we take a deposit when the order starts, with the balance due at collection after the second fitting. Afterpay is available for footwear and clothing bought off the shelf in the studio. Our Refund Policy covers what happens if we cannot finish something.

Rush surcharges, extra cloth beyond the standard range and any alteration to a suit after you have worn it for months. Shoes and shirts are sold separately unless you take the new job starter package. We list every extra up front rather than adding it at the end.

No. Prices are the same whether you drove in from Ipswich or walked from West End. We do ask you to book ahead if you are coming from the Sunshine Coast or further, because we block a longer slot so everything can be done in one visit.

  • Send a photo if it is an alteration and the item is not standard
  • Mention any deadline so we can say honestly if we can meet it
  • We answer the same day during opening hours
